Show Notes
Carrie Kerpen is an entrepreneur who shares her own secrets and those of other successful female entrepreneurs in her new book Work It! Secrets for Success from the Boldest Women in Business.
CEO and co-founder of the social media agency Likeable Media, Carrie is an expert at “work life integration”, having built her business around her life – rather than striving to build her life around her business.
Here are some highlights from the minisode:
- Trust Your Gut: Create some moments of silence in your day and your life so you can get in touch with your feelings and what you really want. Then act on those truths.
- Never Eat Lunch Alone: Women often fall into isolation because we are so task and accomplishment focused. Men, on the other hand, work hard to develop lasting relationships. We have to eat, so always reach out and network over lunch.
- Use the “Mental Mute Button”: Often we negotiate against ourselves by not asking for the money we deserve, keeping our prices too low or over delivering. Get Carrie’s advice here on how NOT to do that – ever again!
