Melissa was recently named by the Wall Street Journal as one the most inspiring people in New York City.
Leaving a lucrative career as a Wall Street Executive craving a more creative path, she founded the Lionesque Group, she and her award-winning team of experiential pop up shop experts are remaking the retail experience.
Some of her clients include major brands such as COTY/Marc Jacobs, Estee Lauder, Intel, M.Gemi, The RealReal, YUM brands, Brandless and others.
Melissa reflects on how her work is transforming retail – and the customer experience here with me – and also in her book, The Pop-Up Paradigm: How Brands Can Build Human Connections in a Digital Age.
With online shopping seemingly overtaking retail, retailers needed a new trick – and Melissa has found a way to create a seamless experience between the online and offline that make and keep customers engaged with a brand with creative and fun experiences they tend to share favorably across social media for a massive multiplier.
Melissa also launched an interactive platform called Clark that enables consumers to connect the online and offline world – while giving brands real-time transparency into store performance.
In 2017 her team’s work was selected as a Glossy Award’s finalist for Best Pop-Up Store Concept for 2017. In 2016 Melissa was awarded Design:Retail’s 40 under 40. In 2015 she was awarded Innovator of the Year for pop-up retail experiences by Retail Touchpoints.
