Sandy Forster says she feels truly blessed with her life.  And it wasn’t easy for her, after her divorce left her a struggling single mom with a business that was getting her deeper and deeper into debt. On welfare, and owing $100,000, she  discovered the Law of Attraction, became a master at manifesting, and turned her life around.

Sandy made a simple choice. Think non-stop about what you want, imagine it real, feel the gratitude, and take action towards your goals in that feel-good energy. From there it didn’t take her long to build successful businesses that made her a millionaire money mindset coach and author – and much more.

She’s climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, meditated in complete silence for 10 days, watched the wildebeest migrate across the Serengeti, trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, dived with dolphins in Hawaii, wandered markets with Moroccan nomads in the High Atlas, white water rafted down the Zambezi, and even gone swimming in Sacred Mayan underground caves. She’s travelled to over 52 countries, written a bestselling book, won multiple business awards and been personally invited by Jack Canfield to be a member of the world’s most awesome group of transformational leaders, experts and authors on the planet!

Sandy loves inspiring women to believe anything is possible.. and then empowering them to break through their blocks, manifest more money and create a life they’re truly passionate about.

So let’s dig deep into how all that works in practice in your business and your life.

Let’s put on our wings with the inspiring Sandy Forster.

Melinda Wittstock:

Sandy, welcome to Wings.

Sandy Forster:

Thank you so much, Melinda. Really looking forward to it.

Melinda Wittstock:

Me too. I mean, you went from being a hundred thousand dollars in debt on welfare and you turned that all around to become a millionaire. So of course, any entrepreneur, anybody who’s struggled with their finances and that’s probably most people at some time or another, want to know your secrets. So what was the spark? I want to get into that story and how you did it.

Sandy Forster:

Absolutely. Well, I guess I was really, really blessed that I discovered something that it transformed my life and now it’s my mission to help share that information with everyone. So basically what happened was, I met a boy in high school, went out with him for about 11 years, got married, had two kids. I had a three-year-old and a six-month-old. And during that time I had started what I would call a hobby business. So I really enjoyed sewing. It was the aerobic era and you couldn’t buy nice leotards. So I had some Lycra left over from trying to make a bikini because I live on the Sunshine Coast in beautiful Queensland, Australia. So spent a lot of time at the beach. So I had some Lycra left over and I thought, oh, I’ll try and make a leotard. So I gave it a go. And next thing I know people were asking me, can I have one? Can I have one? Can I have one? And so I ended up designing and manufacturing swimwear and gym wear. But as I said, it was just a hobby.

So I used to go down to the local sort of discount store that had all this beautiful fabric and I would buy the end of rolls of Lycra and I would come home and I would sew it all in my garage. And then over the summer I would just sell it. I’d find an empty store down by the beach and I’d just sell it all and make some play money. So one year my husband and I put in a swimming pool, another year, we went on a holiday, another year, we did some landscaping. So it was just money that was extra money. And I wasn’t under any stress. I wasn’t trying to build this massive business. I was just doing it really more as a hobby. Then we got divorced. And suddenly that hobby had to be my entire income, which did not work. There was enough to pay the electricity, probably enough to pay some petrol, some gas in my car, enough to pay the phone and that was about it. And so I ended up trying to build that business and turn it into something that was sustainable and long term.

But I had no clue about business, and I just got further and further into debt. I extended my overdraft at the bank. I was loaning money left, right, and center. And yeah, I ended up a hundred thousand dollars in debt and ended up getting welfare from the government, which was at the time, I think it was about seven and a half thousand US dollars a year, like that was for an entire year. So it was super, super stressful because you can’t live on that sort of money. You just go backwards financially every day. And I just didn’t know how things would ever change. I ended up closing that business. I thought about getting a job, but then I thought, well, even getting a job, it’s going to take me forever to pay off that debt. And I was just so super, super, super stressed around money and about how I’d ever be able to change my situation. And then I discovered the law of attraction. Then I discovered all about you can actually rewire your mind.

So, when I combined the law of attraction with neuroscience, my entire world changed and keep in mind that I was at a point where really, I guess I was at kind of at rock bottom. And to me discovering the law of attraction, discovering you could rewire your mind. It just felt like such a relief. It felt like there was an option. Even if my logical brain thought this ain’t going to work, baby, this will work for everyone else, but it’s not going to work for you. Even though my mind was thinking that, it was like, you know what, spending time thinking about my ideal life, thinking about my ideal business, thinking about being a millionaire. Thinking and imagining having a beautiful house, thinking and imagining what it would be like to have a car that didn’t leak so much, that it was growing a plant in the backseat. Yeah, it was bad. Thinking about all the things that I could be and do and have when I was a millionaire. That was so blissful that I completely just dived right into it.

And just spent so much time in that place instead of really living my life, and focusing on how bad it was, and focusing on all the debt, and focusing on how I had no money, and focusing on how I’d never be able to change. Instead, I just lived this fantasy life in my mind as often as I could. And it just, if nothing else, that made me feel so good, it just brought such a relief to me, it just took the stress off me. And one of the things that I teach my students now is, when you are in stress, your whole nervous system, your whole body, we’re kind of wired back from caveman day, stress kind of meant death. Like you were stressed if you saw a new berry, or a new fruit, or a new something, and you didn’t know whether to eat it because it could kill you. You were stressed if you saw a new human, because you didn’t know if that person was going to kill you. You were stressed if you saw an animal because you didn’t know if that was going to kill you.

So stress kind of equal death. And so our bodies are wired to, when we get stressful, everything else shuts down our creativity, our connection to the universe, everything kind of just shuts down. So for me, spending that time, imagining my beautiful, ideal, amazing, fabulous life took the stress off. And one of the bonuses of that was you are more connected to the divine. You are able to get insights and ideas, and you can get more creative, and you do have more courage. And you do take actions that lead you toward what you’re wanting to manifest, what you’re wanting to create in your life. So I really dived into the law of attraction and it completely turned my life around. Like completely turned my life around. I went from welfare to millionaire and to this day, I love, love, love the law of attraction. I love, love anything to do with neuroscience and the brain.

And I love sharing all that information with other people because I see my students constantly creating money miracles, I call them. And it’s just so incredible. Even though I teach this, it’s still like, oh my gosh, did she just do that? Did he just do that? Did that just happen? It’s the coolest thing in the world. And so, yeah, the bottom line is it all comes down to, I rewired my mind. I tapped into that force that is beyond just us as humans and have allowed myself to create the life of my dreams. And it’s something that I love showing other people how to do too.

Melinda Wittstock:

I love that. And I think there is a real power to the law of attraction. I’ve experienced that in my own life. And I think for people listening, I think they always, our brains want to say, well, how? How did you rewire your brain? And was it really as simple as really visioning or getting into a happy place because you were feeling happy with what you were visioning that you de-stressed yourself, or you took the fear out of the scarcity or the lack moving more into gratitude. So you were just effectively shifting your energy just by thinking about what it is you wanted or desired?

Sandy Forster:

That’s part of it. And I think for a lot of people, that’s the only part they do and they wonder why it doesn’t work.

Melinda Wittstock:

Right. Yeah, that’s where I was going with my question. So, because you can’t just make a vision board and expect it to happen. There has to be inspired action around it as well.

Sandy Forster:

Exactly. And I think this is the thing that so many people who learned about the law of attraction, they literally think it’s just sitting there with your eyes closed and meditating expecting a million dollars to drop into your lap. But it just doesn’t work like that. I teach my students, it’s all about aligning body, mind, and spirit. So you’ve got to align those three elements and to make it easier for people to remember, it’s all about your thoughts, your feelings and your actions. So you can think about being a millionaire. You can think about being abundant. You can think about living the life of your dreams, but you then have to feel as if it’s already real. Because you’re an energetic being, emitting a signal every second of the day. And when you focus on, like I used to, focus on your debt, and focus on how you’ve got no money, and focus on how things are a challenge, and focus on how you’re missing out, and focus on how they’re all doing great, but you are not doing any good.

When you focus on that, you’re emitting this signal out to the universe every second. And the signal is, this is important to me. I am focusing on this. What I am focusing on is very important to me, bring me more. So you are effectively just going to attract more of the same, but when you turn that around and focus on what you want, and that’s the signal you emit, then that’s what you attract. But that’s only part of the equation. So thinking about what you want, that’s part of it, that sends the signal out. That sends what I call the order out to the universe. But your feelings are what attract it back to you. So you’ve got to feel as if it’s already real. You’ve got to feel as if you already have that million dollars, as if you already are living a life of abundance, as if you do have the nice car. And you do have the beautiful house, and you have the funds to be able to set up the charity that you want.

You’ve got to feel as if it’s already real feel in your life. Really feel it, like flood every cell of your being with those beautiful, beautiful feelings of abundance of prosperity. And then what happens is, and this is the missing piece for most people. You’ve got to take action. You’ve got to take action. So it’s not about just thinking and feeling, it’s about taking action. But the really cool thing is, as I said before, we’re wired to sort of keep away from anything that is new, because anything that’s new could be death in our, what I call caveman brain, which we’re still kind of hardwired for. It could be death. So it’s not just a matter of being stressed. It could literally mean death. So we have to overcome that by, the more you think about something, and the more you feel it’s real, the more you nervous system gets rewired.

And this becomes more familiar, and suddenly over a period of time, because everyone’s thinking, well, hang on a minute, excuse me, I want a million dollars. And that doesn’t feel like that to me. But to your caveman brain, this is something new. You don’t know what’s going to happen when you get that million dollars. Are people going to be trying to get the money off you? Is a tax man going to get you? Are you going to lose all your friends? Are you going to end up someone stealing it all? And then you’re a hobo on the street. Like your brain does not understand what it’s like to have that million dollars. So you have to get into the place where you think about it so often, you feel as if it’s already happened so often that your entire nervous system just gets aligned with it, becomes what I call at one with it.

And when you’re at that point, then you can start attracting the people, the circumstances, the situations, the experiences to you that allow you to create that dream, that desire, that goal that you have. But the action part is the part that everyone seems to miss. They sit there waiting for something to happen around them rather than taking action. Because when you take a step toward what it is you desire, the universe brings what you desire a step closer to you. And as you take another step toward what you desire, then again, the universe takes another step toward you. So it’s like, you’ve got to start taking action. And people say, well, I don’t know what action to take. I’m not sure. It doesn’t matter, just any action. Because if it’s not the right action, you’ll very clearly know very quickly if it’s not the right action. And if it is the right action, you’ll feel like you’re moving closer to what you want. And the good thing is, when it comes to taking action, you mentioned before, it’s inspired action.

So inspired action is all about you get an idea and it just seems right. And you just kind of follow through with it and everything falls into place. Let me give an example. So I remember when the movie, The Secret, came out. And this was back in, I think about 2004. And I heard about this movie, but we couldn’t buy it here in Australia. It was like, there was some sort of clause that until it aired on TV, which was the way it was originally going to be released to the world, until it aired on TV in Australia, they weren’t allowed to sell it in Australia. And I watched this three minute trailer and thought, oh my gosh, that just feels so in alignment with what I’m doing, didn’t mention the law of attraction once, it just talked about this huge secret. And so I was like, I want to know what it’s about. It feels like it’s what kind of what I’m doing. I really want the secret.

Anyway, I ended up sending an email to The Secret people and said, “I just had this feeling that what you’re doing is going to transform the world. And I want to give you a gift.” And I got to an email back from The Secret people. It was actually Rhonda Byrne, the producer of The Secret and said, “We get thousands of emails come through every day. I don’t know. And I never get any, I don’t know how I did, but I got yours and yes, I’d love a present.” So I sent her my book, which is How to Be Wildly Wealthy Fast, which is based on the law of attraction and manifesting money. And I sent her my, at the time, it was a home study course in a folder or printed off in a binder. And I sent her my millionaire mindset course and she emailed back and said, “Oh my gosh, did you watch The Secret, and then write your book and do your course?” I said, “No, no, no. I’ve had this out for ages. I still haven’t seen The Secret.” And she said, “Oh, let me send you a copy.”

So she sent me a copy from the US and I had a Secret party at my house and we all watched it and I was like, oh my gosh, this is so in alignment with I teach. I’m so happy that people around the world who would never read a book, probably never pick up my book, may never do my course, but they like to watch a movie. People love watching a movie so they could sit down and watch it. So anyway, I said to her, “Why can’t you sell it in Australia?” “Well, we just can’t because we have this agreement in place.” Anyway, she went on to say that they were taking someone out of The Secret, and they were looking to fill its place. They ended up filming me for an entire day to be in The Secret because they were taking someone out. They ended up not using me because my energy didn’t kind of flow. You can tell probably I’m a bit high energy. And the person they were taking out was a lot lower energy, more steady energy.

But what transpired from that one thought, and that one idea and that one follow through was, I said to Rhonda, “Well, you can’t sell to Australia, but can’t someone else sell.” She was like, “Yeah, but we can’t. We can’t sell to any Australian.” And I said, “Well, I’ve got a US company. Could you sell it to my US company?” She said, “Sure.” And that one idea made me close to $3 million in about eight months just from coming up with the idea. And again, I was doing all the things that I teach. I’m aligning my body, mind and spirit. I’m not just thinking about being wealthy. I’m not just feeling wealthy. I’m taking action. So the idea came into my mind, send a gift to The Secret people, which I did. So I took the action, took the action straight away. I didn’t think about it. I sent that email immediately. They said, yes I like a gift, sent that gift straight away. And it led to something that would never have happened. otherwise.

Like I know nothing, what I do now, but I knew nothing about importing, about distribution, about selling to wholesale, to stores, about distributing thousands, upon thousands, upon thousands of products every month. I didn’t know about all of that. But this is another thing I teach my students. There’s a whole thing about ready, aim, fire. I’m all about ready, fire, aim. So get ready. Yeah. Get an idea. Fire, just get going, like just do it. And aim, fix it up, tweak it, make it better later. So that I think is so important for so many people because they spend so long, they come up with an idea and then they think about it, and analyze it, and decide to do something. And then take forever to get it perfect before they get it out into the world, before they take that action before they do anything.

So I’m very much about just do it. And if it’s right, the universe will support you, and guide you, and line things up and make it all happen. But that’s one little example. And I’ve had dozens of them that made me so much money, allowed me to have amazing experiences, have bought me so much joy. But it’s just one example of inspired action. Just doing something without having any idea of what the end result is going to be that allowing that the universe to create magic along the way.

Melinda Wittstock:

There are two things there that I really want to pick up on. One, really gets into the territory of perfection where people often, and especially women don’t take action quick enough, because like you said, there’s sort of overanalyzing, there’s all these things. It’s kind of like the person who’s planning for the sale, but not asking for the sale. And so what is it about women? And this comes up in this podcast a lot, where the perfectionism really holds us back because it’s okay as an entrepreneur to go out and try something and fail. Because in that failure, it’s a positive thing, you’re actually learning more about your customers or more about how to get product market fit or all the different things that we’re focused on as entrepreneurs.

Sandy Forster:

Exactly. And I think as women and again, it’s going back to caveman days. We’ve got this thing about being rejected. And back in caveman days, for a woman to be rejected, that was certain death, that was. Because if you weren’t part of the community, part of the tribe, the men were the ones that had the spears and did the hunting, and killed the wooly mammoth, and did all the stuff. The woman were the ones that were nurturing and part of the community, and looking after the children, doing the cooking, and doing the gathering of the berries and the things. So for a woman to be rejected, meant death. So still to this day, we’re still wired in a certain way that if we do something that is seen to be upsetting others or is seen to be that’s not embraced, then potentially, we’re not going to die, but that’s what we’re hardwired for. We’re going to be rejected. And we can’t take that rejection.

So we spend so much time trying to make things perfect to get it out in the world because we don’t want that rejection. And we don’t want to be pointed out that, that was a failure, that, that wasn’t any good. So many women spend so much time, as you said, just stuck in that place of not getting their brilliance out into the world, because they’re afraid that it’s not good enough, but really perfectionism is just another form of procrastination. It’s just not feeling good enough. It’s not feeling-

Melinda Wittstock:

It’s fear wrapped up in a pretty pink bow.

Sandy Forster:

Exactly. I’m not good enough. So therefore my product isn’t good enough. That’s basically what it all comes down to. And one of the things that I say to people, I’m actually working with a friend at the moment who is a naturopath and she is just doing one on one, on one, on one, and she’s overloaded because everyone’s freaking out about the whole C word. And so everyone’s either getting sick, or afraid of getting sick, or trying to boost their immune system, and it’s all happening. And I said to her, “You got to stop this. What are you doing? You need to create an online course.” So I said, “You have got all this knowledge.” Her main thing used to be prior to all this was helping people with their weight and feeling really healthy, and just full of vitality, and all that sort of thing. So I said, “You need to create an online course.”

And so I said, “Look, all you need to do. You’ve got the product.” She’s got these drops that help people just completely kind of takes away that urge to eat all the time. And you’ve got the protocol for what people to eat so that the weight just drops off without ever feeling hungry. I said, “You’ve got the supplements that people need, any sort of boosting in their system. You’ve got everything. All you need to do is put it all in writing, put it in a members’ area, so that they can get all that great information and then just get it out there. You don’t even have to create ads or do anything fancy. You’ve got a whole community of people that follow you on Facebook. And you just say, fat loss drops. If you’re ready to lose weight really fast, really easy. There you go. That’s it. That’s all you have to do.”

And I said, “You could literally have this launched within a week or two. You could do it. It’s just a matter of bundling up what you’ve got, making a nice sales page, and away you go. You don’t even need the sales page. Because if you just tell people, fat loss drops, they’re going to want it straight away.” So anyway, she could have had it done in a week. Like literally she could have had it done in a week, but it’s been, I don’t know. It’s probably been about three months now. I’m just still in the planning process. And I say, and this happens for so many women, every day that goes by is another day you are not making a sale. It’s another day that, that person who’s looking for what you have, looking for exactly what you have is buying from someone else. Because you are not out there.

Melinda Wittstock:

Yeah. And even you’re short changing other people by not sharing what you know. Entrepreneurs by definition are solving people’s problems.

Sandy Forster:

Exactly. Exactly. And this is the thing, you are short changing people, you are doing people a disservice. Because who you are and what you have, you deliver it in a way, packaged up in a way, presented in a way, whatever, whether it’s a product, or program, or course, or whatever, it happens to be a service. You are you and your energy around what you do, and who you are, and how you deliver it, and your information and your product, that’s you. And there’s people who want exactly what you have. And you are the one that is going to transform their life. You are the one that is going to make their life better. You are the one that’s going to alleviate that challenge. You are the one that has their answer. And by you not getting it out to the world, you are doing them a disservice as well as yourself, because you’re just putting your prosperity on pause. But you are doing everyone a disservice by doing that. Because there are people out there that need exactly who you are and what you have.

And as I said, before, they go off and they end up buying someone else’s product, or program, or service. And it may not be that exact answer, but they’re waiting for you, but you are not ready. So just get it out there and make it better. And this is something I’ve done over and over again. I remember, I think it was 2003, I woke up one morning with a name in my head Wildly Wealthy Women. And I went online and I registered the domain name straight away, because I’m into taking action. So I registered it straight away, but I actually did nothing with it for a couple of months. And eventually, I was actually in the US, at a seminar in Arizona with my business partner at the time. And I said to her, you know what, I’ve got an idea for a program. I said, Wildly Wealthy Women. You teach everything you know about the practical side of making money. Because she was a asset protection, financial advisor, investor. She kind of knew all that side of it, accountant, all of what I call the boring stuff. But that was her.

Sandy Forster:

And I said, and I’ll teach the mindset side and we’ll get together. We’ll get women together three times a year for Wildly Wealthy Women’s wicked weekends where you teach them the practical. I’ll teach them mindset. We’ll do beach walks, and massage, and create vision boards, and do meditations. And I said, it’ll be great. And she just said, “Okay, let’s do it.” And we ended up just that idea. And again, I had no clue how it was all going to pan out. I created a sales page. We had no curriculum, no nothing. I just knew that she was going to share her information via teleseminar. Because we didn’t even have webinars then, but via teleseminar every week. And then every once a month I’d share the mindset stuff. And then would have these live events, Wildly Wealthy Women’s weekends. And that was it. And that was the extent of the idea.

And we had 750 women join at $3,000 a person that first intake. So that’s like a couple of million dollars just from an idea. And we basically, as I said, there was no structure. There was no anything. We just knew we were going to do live course. We knew we were going to do have these fabulous weekends, but I just made it happen. And obviously it got better, and better, and better as the years were passed, because we created a curriculum, and we created handouts, and we knew what we were doing. But again, that’s a perfect example of just ready, coming up with an idea. Fire, just doing it. And then aiming and making it better later.

Melinda Wittstock:

And yeah, I was going to just go back to that, what you said earlier on the podcast “ready, fire, aim”, is that it doesn’t have to be perfect. You’re just testing your idea. And here’s the thing where I think a lot of people go wrong, is they think they have to know every step of the how. And it’s impossible because the how is going to reveal itself once you’re in that action. Like on this podcast, we talk a lot about the necessity for entrepreneurs to build the plane as we’re flying it. And that’s I guess uncomfortable because there’s a lot of uncertainty involved in that, but the things become more certain as you go into action. It’s the action that fuels it.

Sandy Forster:

Exactly. And the thing is particularly with women who have some sort of course, or program, or service where it’s very much about their own sort of intellectual information, their intellectual property. It’s kind of like people aren’t wanting something perfect. They’re wanting a transformation. They’re wanting their life to be better. They’re wanting a change. So they’re not looking for polished, perfect, fabulous. They’re looking for amazing information. And if that’s what you have, then it doesn’t need to be in the perfect PDF and the most gorgeous video. And the first time I rolled out, I have an international coach training and certification program. And it’s called the Inspired Spirit Coaching Academy. And I remember the first time I rolled that out because I became a coach back in 2001. And I created an amazing life because I used practical strategies and mindset strategies together.

And my coaching business took off, and my life was amazing, and I was creating millions of dollars, and everything was fabulous. And I had people all the time saying, “Sandy, I want to do what you are doing. I want to live your life. You’ve got time freedom. You’ve got money freedom. You get to work in the personal development industry. You’re changing people’s lives. I want to do what you are doing.” So in 2008, I launched and founded the Inspired Spirit Coaching Academy. But that very first year, same thing, I came up with the idea, wrote this hours page, but I had no curriculum created at all. I mean, this is probably not a great thing to tell everyone, but I literally didn’t have anything created. But I knew in my mind kind of what I wanted to do. And basically I rolled out the program and all I would do is that the week that I had our call, which was every week, the day before, I would kind of list out some bullet points that I was going to cover. And then I delivered them.

There was no handouts, there was no videos, there was nothing, there was just a live call, which I recorded. And if they didn’t make the live call, they could listen to the audio. But after that first intake, I recorded every one of those sessions, I got them transcribed. I turned the transcription. I edited, I made it better, I tweaked it. I then took information out of that, created the PDF, created the handout for them to have. So over the next intake, they had a bit more. And then the intake after that, they had a bit more. And now these days it is all videos, and handouts, and support material, and this, and that, and the other, like everything they could possibly need. But at the start, I just did it. I just did it. And that’s the thing I try and get into people’s minds. You’ve just got to do it.

Because when you do it the first time, the beauty of the internet, the beauty, and this is the thing I love so much about the internet. You get to change anything in any moment, and it’s no big deal. It’s not like you’ve printed a thousand brochures that cost you this much money, and now you’ve got to change it and you’ve got to throw them all in the bin and you’ve got to start again. It’s all online. You can change a price. You can change a package. You can change what’s delivered. You can change everything in a heartbeat. And so you don’t have to have everything perfect the first run through, because you can make it better the next time, and the next time, and the next time, and the next time. It’s just so easy.

I think we’re really lucky and really blessed to be living in this time where we do have this ability to create a business, the way that we want it, exactly the way that we want it. And make changes, and improve it, and do whatever we want day, by day, by day. It’s not set in stone like a brick and mortar business with brochures, and all this stuff as it used to be decades ago, or probably for many people still is. We’re very blessed that we have the internet and we can create it the way that we want it, which is so, so good.

Melinda Wittstock:

So Sandy, here’s the thing, this information and what you’re saying is wildly, abundantly available to many people, right? It’s been a while since the law of attraction, there’s a lot of people, including yourself, having tremendous success, transforming lives, like you say. And when it comes down to your clients, like the one that you were talking about before, what’s the block that stops them with access to all this knowledge you’re sharing here again on this podcast, actually doing it? Because I look around as a five time serial entrepreneur. There is so much information, whether it’s on the personal development side of entrepreneurship, the mindset issues, or just actually how to. There’s just an abundance of information for everybody now that didn’t exist. When I started my entrepreneurial career 30 years ago, it didn’t exist. And now there’s so much of it. And yet something stops a lot of people from utilizing that knowledge, what is it? What do the blocks say that your clients have? They have the information you’re teaching them, but there’s a resistance, I guess,

Sandy Forster:

Well, I know with my friends, for instance, she basically said to me, Sandy… Because I gave her the examples that I’ve just shared with you about I just get out there and make it happen, and then fix it up. She said, “I know you do that, but I don’t want to put anything out, that’s unprofessional looking. I don’t want to put anything out there.” And this is the block. People kind of think that if they put something out there and it’s not good enough, then they’ll be seen as not good enough. And then they’ll feel embarrassed. And then they’ll feel ashamed. And then word will spread and everyone be talking about how bad they are and blah, blah, blah, blah. Like it’s just, people’s fears just come into it and just override any common sense that people are out there. Like I say to her, people are out there that would do anything to have a simple solution to just lose weight right now. You have it, just do it.

But that’s the same with women, no matter what type of product or program they have. They’re worried they’re going to look as if they’re not professional as if they’re some dinky dye five and dime store. They don’t want to do that. But as I said before, it all comes back to, it’s the information. It’s not how it’s presented. And the beauty of bringing out something new or getting started is do what I did. Like, whenever I create something new, I always promote it as, this is my brand new program. I’m so excited about it, but I’m looking for some amazing testimonials. I’m looking for some amazing transformations. I’m looking for some fabulous stories about how this has changed your life. So I’m offering it at a much lower price than what it will be. And as part of that, you’ll get to experience it. You’ll get the transformation. And then we get to share your success story.

So I let people know in advance that what I’m doing is new. They get it at a bargain. And so it’s kind of a win-win because then people aren’t expecting top of the line, beautiful, everything perfect, everything just in some fabulous members area. They just don’t expect everything to be just right. Because they know it’s new, and they know they’re getting a bargain. And the win-win about that is you don’t have to create it perfectly. The first time you get some great testimonials and people feel fabulous that they’ve got it at a bargain, at a great price.

Melinda Wittstock:

Yeah. I love that too, because when we co-create with our customers, we learn more about them. So if you do say a coaching program and you do the first version of it live basically. And you have connection with the customers and then you start to see the patterns of what’s working, what’s not working. Where are people getting the transformations? Where are people having blocks? What are the kind of things you can do to change your course up a little bit to say for instance, make sure that as close to a hundred percent of them as possible finish. Or they actually execute on what they’re learning.

And you’re right, you get the testimonials and then you can start locking it down. It’s just a smarter way. Just not only for a course, but even if you’re in the mobile app business, like me with Podopolo, the podcasting app. The first iteration of that was our 1.0 beta. Do you know what I mean? And each version of it, as we get more feedback from customers, watch the data and whatnot. Now up at like, 1.1.7, you know what I mean?

Sandy Forster:

Yeah. And the thing is too, I think also for women, we tend to undervalue what we do. I teach mindset, this is my thing, but even I can do this. So I remember back in about 2006, I created a course for millionaire mindset, same one I sent Rhonda Byrne. And I only sold it for that year. And then I stopped selling it. And there was part of me that kind of was like, oh yeah, everyone knows this stuff. They can read my book. They can start manifesting that way. They don’t need this. But over and over again, people would say to me, I know you had this course. Why don’t you sell it? And eventually, what is it? Last year. So how many years is that? I’m not good at math. So that’s probably what? I don’t know, 14 years later. I think, you know what, I should start offering that course again, because people either buy my book, which is very low price, obviously. Or they join my Inspired Spirit Coaching Academy, which is a high ticket item because it’s a 10-month training and certification program, but there was nothing in the middle.

So I thought, you know what? I should bring that course back out. Now I wanted to completely change it. Because in that timeframe, obviously I have learnt so much, I have applied so much. I’m part of an amazing group of people called the Transformational Leadership Council, which was founded by Jack Canfield. And has pretty much nearly all the people that were featured in the movie, The Secret, as part of that group. So the things that I learn, and find out, and discover, and using my own life is just mind blowing. So in that 14 years or so, a lot have changed in the law of attraction field, but a lot has changed in the neuroscience field too. I wanted to bring that all together.

And so again, I did exactly what I tell other people to do. I put all that information together, all based on money, and manifesting, and mindset. And I said to only people on my list, it’s not like I’m out there advertising to people who don’t know me, just to my list. I’ve got this program. It’s going to be really low cost. I want to get in. I want to get these fabulous testimonials. And again, I had nothing created I didn’t have the entire course created. I have an idea of what I wanted, but I just got it out there and people loved it. And like you said, I did live every week. And so I did the live. I taught something, and I got people to ask questions. And this is the beauty of doing a course and getting something out into the world and interacting with your clients and customers is they ask the questions that make your program course product better.

Because they’re the ones that if you haven’t clearly articulated something, or you haven’t given enough information about something, or something’s missing, they’ll ask the questions and then you know that, that’s what you need to bring in for the next iteration of that course, that you know how to change it, you know how to improve it. And so it’s so valuable to you as a business person, but it’s also because it’s at a great price. And because people get that interaction with you, it’s so valuable for your clients and customers. So yeah, it’s just a matter of you just got to do it. You just be like Nike, just do it.

Melinda Wittstock:

Absolutely. So Sandy, what is the best way for people to find you and work with you? Because what you’re doing is I think a necessity for anybody in any career, but especially for entrepreneurs.

Sandy Forster:

Yeah. Well, the easiest way to probably find me is two ways. First way is through my website at wildlywealthy.com or you can listen to my podcast. I have a podcast called Wildly Wealthy Women. So they’re probably the two best ways to connect with me.

Melinda Wittstock:

Fantastic. And of course your podcast, like 4.5 million others is on Podopolo where people can interact with you because it’s socially interactive around your podcast and these ideas. So I invite you to claim your podcast on Podopolo. I will subscribe to it there and listen to it. And I always love interviewing other podcasters. Thank you so much, Sandy, for putting on your wings and flying with us.

Sandy Forster:

Thank you so much for having me Melinda. And the thing I want to just add before you finish up is, some people hear my story and think, oh, well that’s her, she’s got something special and that’s how she’s gone from welfare to millionaire. But I think people need to understand that I dropped out of high school. I didn’t even finish high school. I only went to grade 11. I had no real skills. I had no money behind me. I didn’t have any connections. I was just someone who discovered the law of attraction, discovered neuroscience, put it into place every single day and my life transformed. And so I believe that if I can do it, anyone else can do it too. It’s really about finding a mentor that you really align with, getting clear on what you want, taking action every single, day and really believing that anything is possible because it is.

Melinda Wittstock:

100%. Thank you so much.

Sandy Forster
