Melinda Wittstock:       Tracee, welcome to Wings.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Hey, thank you so much for having me, Melinda. I’m excited to talk with you.

Melinda Wittstock:       I’m excited to talk with you too, you’re very inspiring, helping women over 40 become fat burning machines. I wanted to know what was inspiring … Yeah, right? Like that’s awesome, so what’s inspiring you right now?

Tracee Gluhaich:           What is inspiring me right now is the books that I’ve been reading. My newest one is The Law of Attraction, and I just finished You’re a Badass in Making Money with Jen Sincero, have you read those?

Melinda Wittstock:       I have, I love her. I love her whole attitude.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Yeah.

Melinda Wittstock:       Because we are badasses, and we sometimes forget our own value. I like her whole, I don’t know, attitude about like, “Yeah, like come on, remember your value.”

Tracee Gluhaich:           Yeah, for sure. I think so often when we get stuck in busy land with running our business, having a job, family, parents, it’s like we forget about ourselves, and going after what it is we truly, truly want. We just think, “Oh, I’m too old, it’s too late. I can’t have what I really want.”

Melinda Wittstock:       Oh my God, and the other thing that happens too is women think that success is a trade-off, that somehow if we really go for it 100% in business, we’ll be sacrificing something else.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Right.

Melinda Wittstock:       I don’t believe that to be true, it’s one of the reasons I’m holding a whole retreat and mastermind, to get women out of that kind of attitude and into really the fact, and it is a proven fact, I know I’ve proven it in my own life, that you can have abundance in all areas of your life.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Mm-hmm (affirmative), as long as that’s what you focus on, is that abundance that you want instead of the lack that you think you have currently, you know? Focus on what you want, future forecasting, instead of being stuck in the mud.

Melinda Wittstock:       Yes, exactly. That’s a great thing to be inspired by, and of course, we all have challenges. One of the parts of my mission is to de-stigmatize the challenge or the failure that is really a big part of being an entrepreneur. I see it as failing forward.

Tracee Gluhaich:           John Maxwell, yeah.

Melinda Wittstock:       What are some of the challenges in your business right now?

Tracee Gluhaich:           Some of the challenges are time, for me, just because I work all the time, and sometimes I feel like I’m spread too thin. Other challenges are distractions, where … Have you read the book, The One Thing?

Melinda Wittstock:       I have, and I know Jeff personally.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Oh, cool. That book is so neat, right? Like I used to be a rabbit chaser, and I would say, “Oh, well this is good and this is good, and let’s do this.” Now I’ve really dialed in and honed in on the one thing that I crafted my message and my business about, and you mentioned it in the thing about helping women, I actually narrowed it even further. Now I’m really just working with women like around 50, and helping them realize that they’re not too old, it’s never too late to literally change the trajectory of their health, which will trickle down into business, relationships, home life and all the other areas that are key indicators of satisfaction and happiness in your life.

Melinda Wittstock:       I love it, it’s so important. I think 50 is the new 30, honestly.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Amen.

Melinda Wittstock:       Right? No really, because our wisdom and our exuberance start to become balanced or in tandem somehow, and you know what? Like we have the bio-hacking and we have the technology, and we have the vitamins and we have the exercise regiments, and we have really good food protocols, we have all those things to be younger, longer, and of course it’s in our attitude as well. Given your entrepreneurial journey, what are the top three pieces of advice that you have for women in business, that perhaps you wish you knew when you were first starting out?

Tracee Gluhaich:           One of them is, think bigger. I feel like I used to limit myself, and I didn’t realize how much I can actually help out people and how big I can go. I think, like so I hired a coach, and one thing they said was, “Make out your goal, like whatever your goal is, your income goal for the month, now double it, and now that’s your new goal,” because you need to set the bar higher. Because if you set it low and reach it, or if you set it high and reach it, like what’s going to be better? You know, it’s the whole thing with the lid, you’ve heard the story about the fleas and the lid?

Melinda Wittstock:       Mm-hmm (affirmative). Yeah, so for people who haven’t, why don’t you explain?

Tracee Gluhaich:           Okay. I love stories, I’m very much into analogies. This one is, if you take fleas and put them in a glass jar and put the lid on, they will hop. They will hop, and they keep bonking their head on the top of the lid, and so they realize, “Oh shoot, I can’t hop that high or I’m going to get hurt.” When you take the lid off, even though they have the ability, they will not hop out of the jar, because now they are confined by the limits of the original lid.

Melinda Wittstock:       Yeah, there was a really interesting experiment done, I forget which aquarium, it might’ve been the Amsterdam one. I forget, but they were doing some work on the aquarium, so they put all the fish in a cylinder for a short period of time. Then once the cylinder was removed, the fish stayed swimming in the exact same cylinder, even though they had all this expanse.

Tracee Gluhaich:           That’s cool.

Melinda Wittstock:       We all, like all species do that, we forget the abundance around us, we get [inaudible 00:06:06]. It’s so important, and I think that’s great, like to double it or even think about being kind of exponential, or remembering that there’s just so much opportunity out there, so that’s awesome advice. What would be the second?

Tracee Gluhaich:           Hire a coach.

Melinda Wittstock:       Yeah, that’s game changing. My businesses never took off until I did that, yeah.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Yeah, it’s like why would somebody hire you to do big things for them if you’re not willing to step into that same mindset?

Melinda Wittstock:       That’s right. You’ve got to invest in yourself, I think that’s really true, and be dedicated to lifelong learning if you want to succeed in business. What would be the third?

Tracee Gluhaich:           The third would be, fuel your body as a temple, and to really realize that what you put in, the food that you put in, the thoughts that you take on, but take very, very good care of yourself as if you would a child that you were raising, so your baby or something, but really, really make everything count. Like for instance, for me personally, I would rather put in, like I love salad but I’d rather put in a really nutrient-dense vegetable instead of just lettuce, which is mostly filled with water. I’m really much into food quality and nutrient density, just to fuel my brain primarily, but also just my energy levels.

Melinda Wittstock:       Yeah, that’s so, so smart. Hey, so Tracee, how can people find you and work with you?

Tracee Gluhaich:           Awesome. My website is highenergygirl.com, super simple.

Melinda Wittstock:       Wonderful. Do you have any special offer for any of our guests today? [crosstalk 00:07:52] Sorry, wait, wait, wait, or listen, wait, wait, sorry, I’m just going to tape, so sorry … Do you have any special offers for our listeners today?

Tracee Gluhaich:           Absolutely. I have a free guide that is about high energy transformation. It is everything you need, from food, mindset, fitness and self-care, that you can actually take advantage of taking your body to the next level, and it all starts in your mind.

Melinda Wittstock:       Wonderful. Well, thank you so much for putting on your wings and flying with us.

Tracee Gluhaich:           Aw, thank you so much too, you are just an inspiration to women everywhere, and I love, love, love your show.
